Hi Everyone. It has been awhile. Who would have thought buying a house would keep us to busy to blog? We have a big announcement... We’ll be getting a new roommate somewhere around September 19th. It won’t be another pet, but a baby. Super excited. I hope to post more details in the future.

We have been living in our new home for a few weeks now. Painting never ends. We also adopted this kitten from a Pet Clinic. We named her Nipa. Nipa was from an abandoned litter. We have had her over a month, and no sign of my allergies acting up yet.

Here is the house we are currently in Escrow on. It has 3 bedrooms, a bathroom, a small back house we’ll rent out, and is in Fullerton, CA. It will need some TLC, but we love it. Escrow is a long process and there are some hurdles we have to get through along the way, but we have faith we’ll get there. For some more pics go here.

Did you know I have a podcast now. My brother Nick, Sarah, and Myself are all will be producing a podcast if we can find the time. Sometimes it might involve us talking, other times it might video. We’ll see. The first two episodes are up. Episode 1 was us talking about our music, and episode 2 is a video I made as a part of the Mr. Brea Competition. 2008 Year In Review

Happy holidays, and thanks for visiting out site. 2008 was a year filled with memorable moments, such as our first full year of marriage. There were job changes, traveling, and new pets- all of which made 2008 a very busy year.
The first part of the year was filled with Duck’s games, races, and paper grading. The Duck’s fought hard to defend their Stanley Cup title, but in the end came up short. Ricky and his father had the amazing opportunity to go see a game in Detroit; Ricky was also able to experience and learn about his family’s history. To make the weekend even better, the Duck’s beat the Red Wings in detroit, but at the end of season, the Wings won the Stanley Cup.
In May, we adopted out first puppy, a springer spaniel mix, whom we named Zoey. We instantly bonded with Zoey. She loves to run with Ricky and to take trips to our local dog park. Also in May, we attended the 9th annual Coachella Valley Music Festival. Some of the best musical performances was Prince, Roger Waters, Battles and Vampire Weekend. At the begining of summer break, we were able to take a trip to Seattle and Vancouver to visit my brother. We had the opportunity to try some amazing Vegan restaurants. We also had the chance to get to know Amy, Nick’s Fiancee, who will be joining the Corp family next December.
At the end of the school year, Ricky found out he would be the head Coach of the Brea Olinda Girl’s Cross Country Team. We had an exciting trip to Big Bear for Training Camp. The Brea-Olinda Girls Cross County team was tied for second in our league for most of the season but injuries ended our season earlier the expected, and we finished 4th in our league.
As most of you know, last August, we celebrated our one year anniversary going to see “The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet” at the Old Globe Theater in San Diego. We also found a new church to start attending, called The Gathering. It strives to be a community of individuals forming friendships, changing society for the better, learning about philosophy, and moreover, the Word of God. It is a small eclectic church where we have been able to make a handful of new friends.
In September, Sarah began teaching Sophomore and Junior Lit at Chino High School. The change from Junior High to High School was intimidating at first, but ended up being for the best. Sarah has found a new senses of fulfillment working with older students. Sarah stepped up becoming sophomore advisor, assistant soccer coach, founded the Animal Rights Club, and is the advisor for the Unity Dance troop. She has been honored at foot ball games and band concerts as the student’s favorite teacher. Also working hard as a teacher, Ricky was nominated for his 3rd Mr. Brea and won his first Most Unique Dressed title at Brea-Olinda High School.
Last November, Ricky ran his 14th marathon In San Antonio Texas. After training for months with the Cross Country team, Ricky was expecting his previous Personal Record of 3:54 set in 2003 to be the best he could hope for. The start line’s temperature was in the low 40s, and Ricky was sore from the tempo and hill runs he had to do with his Cross Country Team. At the 20 mile mark, Ricky was well under 3 hours, but the last 6 miles would be the toughest. Ricky pushed hard and was able to finish with a time of 3:41:28- a new PR! One month later, Ricky would set a new 10K PR with a time of 41:28, finishing 2nd for his age division.
2008 was an amazing year that just flew by! We look forward to finishing the year with a trip up to Portland, Oregon for New Years with Ricky’s brother Nick and Amy. 2009 will be an amazing year. Ricky hopes to set new PRs in the marathon and other distances and will be traveling to Phoenix, Seattle, and maybe Nashville to race. Sarah hopes to travel to Washington DC to visit friends. We also look forward to attending Nick’s wedding in Bellingham next December. Furthermore, we’ll be attending the 10th anniversary of Coachella during a new earlier date. 2009 will be a year filled with trips to the dog park, time with family, new recipes, and as always paper grading.
